Mixcraft for the Classroom 2nd ed. by practicing educators Steve Riddle and Zig Wajler is a teacher resource book based on the input and feedback from educators, students, and teachers of how to best serve the needs of their respective classrooms by promoting learning through technology. About the Authors:
Steve Riddle is a Music Specialist for Sweetwater City Schools in Sweetwater Tennessee. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Music (Music Education) degrees from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He has twenty-nine years of teaching experience; teaching instrumental, vocal/choral, and elementary classroom music. He is a certified independent music teacher, and has over thirty years of private piano teaching experience, and five years of experience teaching digital keyboard lab. He has also worked extensively in church music as a worship leader, accompanist, and graded choir supervisor. He was a Presser Foundation Award winner, and has been selected as Teacher of the Year at the school, system, and county levels. In 2009, he was honored as a Distinguished Music Educator by the Yale School of Music, and attended the Yale Symposium for Music in Schools.
Zig Wajler is a professional musician, educator, and education technology specialist and author of Mr. Zig's Literacy, Music and Technology Connection (Alfred Publishing), World Beat Fun (Alfred Publishing), and co-author of Mixcraft for the Classroom 2nd Edition. His education credits include Musicians Institute and Tennessee State University. He has been featured in Modern Drummer, DRUM!, Drum Business, Leader in Christian Education, Musician Inc., Music Trades, and School, Band and Orchestra magazines. As a professional musician he has performed and/or recorded with Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Shari Lewis and Lambchop, Thomas the Tank Engine, Bob McGrath/Sesame Street, Shelia E., Shawn Camp, Jeffery Steel, Wade Hayes, Steve Earle, Johnny Russell, Chonda Pierce, The Animal Band, The Moffatts, and Arlon Roth. Zig has appeared on network television including VH-1, VH-1 Save the Music, PBS, FOX, Disney, and Comedy Central. He has earned endorsements and is a clinician with Pearl Drums and Pearl Percussion, Sabian Cymbals, Pro-Mark Drumstick, Zendrum controllers, and The Percussion Marketing Council.
