Is MELODYNE SOUND LIBRARY: HORN SECTION in stock?
Manufacturer: CELEMONY
Platform: Hybrid

There are many horn samples around. But which collection lets you actually alter the phrases of individual instruments within a brass section? Well, this is now possible with the Melodyne Sound Library (MSL) horn section: Play the kicks in major rather than in minor? Double the trombone? Add the trumpet in the last bar only? Change the sax line? No problem at all!

The MSL horn section contains around 1,300 first-class phrases and licks which were specially conceived for use with Melodyne technology. They have been recorded in highest musical quality and meticulously optimized for Melodyne – so you can start right away. And if a sample does not fit into your arrangement yet, you can reshape it with Melodyne, adjust tempo and key, vary the timing or create completely different melodies.

All samples have been recorded without effects or dynamic processing to leave complete freedom for the further editing process and to satisfy highest demands in professional production environments.

When navigating through the samples with Melodyne's Melody Manager, you do not see audio waveforms only, but also the notes of the material. Insert entire recordings, parts thereof or merely individual notes into your arrangements very elegantly using Drag 'n' Drop. If desired, Melodyne makes everything match.

David Milzow, Saxophone, Flute

Born 1979 in Germany, he studied saxophone and jazz/rock/pop at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hanover. David is deeply involved in all styles of the great tradition of the saxophone family. From the high note soprano sounds to these bottom notes of the baritone he has all in his repertoire: Lush and airy sounds á la Coleman Hawkins, Stan Getz or Gerry Mulligan, quick bebop á la Sonny Rollins, Charlie Parker and John Coltrane to the singing sounds of the rhythm ’n’ blues sax players, funky phrases in the manner of Maceo Parker or David Sanborn's pop style.

To produce the authentic sounds of all these areas David uses vintage horns like King Super 20 Tenor, Conn Baritone, Selmer Mark6 Alto and Selmer or Yanagisawa Soprano. Also very important are the mouthpieces, most of them are vintage or vintagestyled pieces of Berg Larsen (Ebonite and Duckbill), Otto Link (Metal and Ebonite) and Meyer. Similar to this great variety he played live in every style you can think a sax is needed and worked on stage and in the studio with very different musicians like Jimmy Cobb (Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue), Eric Alexander, Jean-Louis Rassinfosse, Lyn Collins, Kip Blackshire, Marva Whitney and many others.

Mario Morejon Hernandez aka “El Indio”, Trumpet

Born in the Cuban province of Pinar del Rio, El Indio has been classically trained at the prestigious Havana’s National School of Arts. His international experience started when he was hired at the age of just eighteen by Chucho Valdes as Irakere's first trumpeter, which led him to extensively tour Europe, America and Africa. El Indio, now 26, is considered to be the best Ambassador for North American Jazz in the Caribbean’s biggest island. Through the jazz idiom, he follows the example of his major influences, Woody Shaw, Clifford Brown, Lee Morgan and Freddy Hubbard. El Indio has recorded two albums, both for Tamarindo Records. His first opus ‘Nuevos horizontes’ released in 2005 in Europe and Japan through Dreyfus Jazz has been acclaimed as one of the best Cuban jazz recordings of the year. His second opus ‘Mundo oscuro’, is a deeply inspired and overwhelming all acoustic work featuring amongst others legendary percussionist Miguel Anga Diaz.

Florian Scheffler, Trumpet

In 1990 he was one of the co-founders of the Jugend Jazz Orchester Niedersachsen which represents the best young jazz musicians of the German federal state of Lower Saxony. During 1995-2000 he played trumpet in the hip hop band „Be“. In 2000 he moved to Berlin to take part in the lively culture and music scene. At this time he founded the electro-jazz project Transit Elektro. Since relocating Florian works as a studio musician and sideman, as DJ and KJ and as producer and remixer under the pseudonyms Otis, Florian (Berlin), Odissei and Dogma.
